Braun Station East Community Improvement Association

Braun Station, a community on San Antonio’s Northwest Side, is located between Loop 1604 and Bandera Road.

Braun Station East, part of the larger Braun Station community on San Antonio’s Northwest Side, offers residents a welcoming neighborhood with rich history and modern convenience. Originally developed in the 1970s by San Antonio homebuilder John Thomas Saunders, Braun Station has grown into two subdivisions—Braun Station East and Braun Station West—along with the newer Braun Heights community. Braun Station is conveniently located and provides easy access to shopping, schools, and major employers while maintaining the charm of an established neighborhood.

With 626 unique homes, no two sharing the same exterior, Braun Station East is known for its architectural variety and community pride. The Braun Station East Community Improvement Association helps ensure the neighborhood remains vibrant, resident-centered, and financially sound. Managed by dedicated volunteers and a Board of Directors, the association focuses on enhancing quality of life through active involvement and shared resources.

Residents enjoy a wide range of amenities designed to bring neighbors together. From relaxing afternoons at the pool to hosting private events at the clubhouse, Braun Station East provides spaces that foster connection. Seasonal community events, neighborhood gatherings, and volunteer opportunities further strengthen the sense of belonging that makes this community special.

The association encourages homeowners to participate—whether by attending monthly board meetings, joining committees, or staying engaged through newsletters and website updates. This spirit of collaboration has helped Braun Station East thrive for nearly five decades.

If you’re looking for a safe, established, and welcoming San Antonio neighborhood, Braun Station East combines history, amenities, and community spirit in one of Northwest Bexar County’s most desirable locations.

The History of Braun Station East

Did you know Braun Station East traces its roots back to the mid-1800s? The Braun family, originally from Germany, were early settlers in northwestern Bexar County. One notable member, Friedrich Braun, arrived in Texas in 1845 as part of a large wave of German immigration encouraged by the Adelsverein—a society that promoted German colonization in Texas. The Braun family established farms and ranches across the land we now know as Braun Road, Braun Station, and surrounding neighborhoods. Braun Road itself likely follows the path of old wagon or cattle trails that once crossed the family’s property. In the 1970s, developer John Thomas Saunders named the residential development “Braun Station” to honor this legacy and the family whose land helped shape the community we enjoy today.
